In Which We Move Slightly Forward
Sep. 9th, 2008 05:31 pmWin. I have been good today. I slept a little later than I intended, but nevertheless woke up early and did Latin. I did not finish the assignment, but I did do about half of it, which I felt all right with. Especially since I spent the rest of the morning using my giant post-its to write out thesis notes and stuff. I've filled up 41/2 of the pages with stuff. Yi and pietas each have a page devoted to them, as does "isolation." The 1/2 is "past/nostalgia and future". It's doing wonders to un-clutter my head.
(...It just got quite dark outside. The clouds that blew in have made the sky look much darker. It's striking. Wow.)
Anyway. So I also sat down and wrote out a draft for the definitions of yi and pietas and sent that off to Zhang and Rohrbacher. I have done minimal slacking off so far today. I hope this is a pattern I can keep up for the rest of the semester. I don't mind doing some slacking and taking breaks. It's important to let one's brain cool off, but I don't want to be mired in my own inaction.
I dunno, I'm just feeling all right today. Suki and I watched the Faerie Tale Theatre Snow Queen yesterday. It wasn't as stirring or creepy or...whatever...as I remembered from when I was a kid, but I still enjoyed it. The make-up on the Snow Queen and the people in the Snow Palace is wonderful. Sparkles. Yay.
